Wine tasting, a popular recreational activity, found in three downtowns of south bay region in San Francisco Bay Area also saves time for leisure and business traveler.

A visitor to San Francisco bay area on a business or leisure trip, with minimum time of their stay, may maximize their experience with a visit to three distinguished wine tasting rooms in the south bay region. J Lohr Winery, Cinnabar Winery, and Fleming Jenkins Winery, are in the hub of local downtowns of San Jose, Saratoga, and Los Gatos.

J Lohr Wine Tasting Room, San Jose CA

One of two for J Lohr, this tasting room is located in downtown San Jose, 1000 Lenzen Avenue, in a historic winery where they once made wines. Now, it is a well-liked wine tasting room and event center, with vineyards located in Central California. It is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. which people may walk or take the shuttle bus from many downtown San Jose hotels. No fees are charged except with their limited series. Jerry Lohr was named the Wine Industry Person of the Year 2008 at the San Luis Obispo County Wine Industry Awards, awarded by Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance.

Cinnabar Vineyards & Winery Tasting Room, Saratoga, CA

The new wine tasting room for Cinnabar Vineyard & Winery is located in Saratoga at 14612 Big Basin Way. Their vineyard lies in the mountains less than five miles away from Saratoga and was started by the family of Tom Mudd. This is an elegant tasting room, open daily, has plenty of room at the bar and a gift shop to browse. A favorite wine to taste is Mercury Rising.

Fleming Jenkins Vineyards & Winery, Los Gatos, CA

The newly remodeled wine tasting room featuring Fleming Jenkins Vineyards & Winery, reopened in May 2008. Hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Tuesday – Sunday and is located at 45 West Main St. With vineyards local in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and wines made at nearby historic Novitiate Winery, this is a key attraction. It is co-owned by Peggy Fleming, Olympic gold medal skater, and her husband, Gregg Jenkins. Peggy is local and grew up in Northern California, on a farm near Morgan Hill.

Wine tasting currently is a recreational trend among Americans. This activity may be done on shorter trips to the San Francisco bay area and without much driving by visiting the wine tasting rooms of J Lohr, Cinnabar,and Fleming Jenkins wineries in the local downtowns of San Jose, Saratoga, and Los Gatos.
