Get a Free 2010 Disney Pass for VolunteeringSpend a Day With Charity for a Day at Disney World or Disneyland
Want to spend a day for free at a Disney park in the U.S.? All it takes is volunteering for a day in 2010.
To encourage people to get out and make a difference, Disney has announced a new campaign in hopes of getting one million people to give their time and hard work. They have partnered with the HandsOn Network, which connects volunteers to opportunities, to help with monitoring the program. Of course, when there is free stuff involved, there are always rules and fine print involved as well. Here is a break down of the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program: The Basics of the Free Disney Day The "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program will provide a free one day, one park ticket to any of the parks at Disneyland in California or Walt Disney World in Florida in 2010 to those that volunteer. All participants must pre-register at the Disney parks website for either U.S. residents (including Puerto Rico) or Canadian. Unfortunately, residents of other countries are not eligible for this promotion. Volunteers must be at least 18 to register and at least 6 years old to participate, but this means entire families can get involved. After the volunteer mission is completed and verified, an email will be sent with an explanation of how to get the voucher for the free day at Disney. Without the verification voucher, the volunteer cannot get their free pass, and once redeemed, the actual pass must be used that same day. No matter how many days one volunteers, each person only gets one complimentary pass for the year and it is non-transferable. Should the volunteer already have a pass, the voucher can be exchanged for either a special FastPass card good for up to six people, a collectible Ear Hat figurine with exclusive trading pins or donated to a non-profit organization designated by Disney. Dates of ImportanceVolunteer opportunities will be revealed starting January 1, 2010. Any work done in 2009 or earlier doesn't count. The "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program ends on December 15, 2010, and all free passes must be redeemed by that date. Free passes will be issued from January 1 to December 15, 2010, or until the total reaches 1 million free passes. This means volunteering early in the year will increase the odds of being able to get a free pass. The free passes may not be used during the blackout dates of March 29 through April 8, as well as July 4, 2010. Further details can be found on either of the Disney parks websites linked above. Volunteers get the satisfaction of a helping others and a free day at a Disney park. Sounds like a win-win deal for everyone.
