New Discount Annual Weekday-Only Pass Saves Florida Residents Money

Walt Disney World introduces the Florida Resident Weekday Select Pass, a discount annual pass that admits its holder to all four major theme parks.

Walt Disney World has introduced another discount ticket option for its Florida residents, the Florida Resident Weekday Select Pass. The annual pass is good for the major theme parks ­­– Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom – Monday through Friday.

This pass gives its holder select Annual Passholder benefits, including a subscription to the Mickey Monitor newsletter, merchandise discounts, access to special Passholder events, and occasional discounts on Disney hotel accommodations and dining.

Pricing and Other Fees

The Florida Resident Weekday Select is the lowest-priced ticket option that provides state residents with access to all four major theme parks. For Disney guests age 10 and older, the pass costs $169 plus tax. For Disney guests between the ages of 3 and 9, the pass costs $149 plus tax. Children under 3 years of age receive free admission.

Parking fees are not included in discounted annual passes, and currently run $14 per day.

Blockout Dates and Other Restrictions

As with other discounted annual passes, the Florida Resident Weekday Select is subject to blockout dates in addition to its no-weekend restriction. Blockout dates usually fall during peak periods and the following dates have been announced so far:

  • April 4 – April 17, 2009
  • June 6, 2009 – Aug. 13, 2009
  • Dec. 19, 2009 – Jan. 1, 2010
  • March 27, 2010 – April 9, 2010
  • June 12, 2010 – Aug. 19, 2010

The pass is valid for one year.

Florida Proof of Residency

Proof of Florida residency is needed to purchase and use the pass. Acceptable forms include:

  • Florida state-issued ID card (with Florida address)
  • Florida voter’s registration card with corresponding picture ID
  • A college ID for a Florida college or university
  • Florida-based military ID.

Other Walt Disney World Annual Passes Available to Florida Residents

The Florida Weekday Select Pass is one of several Walt Disney World Florida resident annual passes that are available to state residents. The following briefly compares options for state residents.

  • Premium Annual Pass. This option includes access to the water parks, DisneyQuest, Disney’s Wide World of Sports, and Oak Trail Golf Course. There are no blockout dates and parking is included. $489 plus tax (ages 10 and up), $431 plus tax (ages 3 – 9).
  • Annual Pass. This provides admission to all major theme parks. As with the Premium Annual Pass, there are no blockout dates and parking is included. $369 plus tax (ages 10 and up), $325 plus tax (ages 3 – 9).
  • Seasonal Pass provides admission to all four major theme parks seven days a week. Blockout dates apply during peak periods. $249 plus tax (ages 10 and up), $220 plus tax (ages 3 – 9).
  • Florida Resident Weekday Select Pass provides admission to all theme parks Mon.-Fri. Blockout dates apply. $169 plus tax (ages 10 and up), $149 plus tax (ages 3 – 9).
  • Epcot After 4 p.m. Pass provides admission only to the Epcot theme park after 4:00 p.m. $139 plus tax (ages 10 and up), $123 plus tax (ages 3 – 9).
  • Water Park Annual Passes provides all-day admission to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. $99.50 plus tax (ages 10 and up), $80 plus tax (ages 3 – 9).
  • Water Park After 2 p.m. provides admission to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. $60 plus tax (ages 10 and up), $48 plus tax (ages 3 – 9).

With the new weekday pass joining several Annual Pass options, trips to Walt Disney World have become even more affordable and flexible for Florida residents.
