Jet Blue is making it easier for travelers in the Midwest to grab low-cost fares by expanding its service to Chicago.

Service to and from Chicago’s O’Hare airport starts January 4, 2007, with non-stop service to New York City’s JFK airport and Long Beach, CA. From there you can connect to any of the other cities Jet Blue flies to.

Jet Blue isn’t the only discounted air carrier to have a berth in the Windy City, but it is one of the few that will call O’Hare home. Most of the rest fly out of Midway, on the city’s south side.

As I fly a lot to the Midwest, this is great news for me. Jet Blue is one of my favorite airlines to fly, with great rates, service and amenities, like DirectTV in every seat and free snack packs on cross-country routes.
