Back in January 2006, Walt Disney World raised their ticket prices to $67.10 with tax. Now, as of August 6, a single park adult ticket to Walt Disney World will cost $71.36 with tax. This is almost a 10% increase over the course of a year.
Sure with the higher fuel costs, it costs them more to operate all the vehicles, from the monorail to the boats, but at this point, it now costs over $70 for each person over the age of 10. And this is just for one park. If you want to "park-hop" -- which is theme-park speak for going to more than one park in a day -- you'll pay even more.
An average family of four with both children over 10 would pay over $280 for one day at a park. Sure there are savings for buying multi-day tickets, but even so, that's a lot for a family to pay. And that's just for the tickets -- we haven't even factored in airfare and hotels.
