» desertblue - flights and such

this is a great article. In fact I could have used just this info when flying home to Seattle a few days ago. Flying into 69 mph winds is no picnic. I should have just rescheduled. half the people vomited into their seat pockets and it took the second try for the plane to land. i was even thinking: better be safe than sorry, just reschedule. I mean, i knew we were going to be arriving into gale force winds. I just didn't want to lose the money on my ticket.

A lot of times, it depends on the airlines if the passenger is the one to initiate the rebooking when the flight hasn't officially been canceled. But most often a talk with a ticket agent or someone in a position of authority can get those fees waved in an instance like you went through, where there was bad weather forecast and safety was an issue.

Glad you made it home safe! happy
